 Captured at: Satara

The Maratha king Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj commissioned Moropant Trimbak Pingle, his prime minister, to undertake the construction of this fort in order to defend the banks of the Nira and the Koyna rivers, and to defend the Par pass.

Pratapgad is usually visited as a day-trip from the hill station of Mahabaleshwar, a popular tourist destination located 25 kilometres away.

I visited Pratapgad fort back in December 2018 with group of friends. It was really a great trip in that weather and pratapgad was a main flashpoint of the trip.

I recommend you this place, please visit - you won't regret 😉

Captured at: My Hometown

Who invented light bulb Nikola Tesla Or Thomas Edison.  In a shortsighted move, Edison dismissed Tesla's "impractical" idea of an alternating-current (AC) system of electric power transmission, instead promoting his simpler, but less efficient, direct-current (DC) system.

This was captured in my hometown Pimperkheda - a small village in Dhule district on 8th November 2019 BC (Before Corona) 😛

For those who don't know what it is, It's a bullock cart or ox cart is a two-wheeled vehicle pulled by oxen. It is a means of transportation used since ancient times in many parts of the world. They are still used today where modern vehicles are too expensive or the infrastructure favor them.

Due to urbanisation in villages, they are getting extinct TOO.

Let me know what are your memories with your villages, would like to hear them out.
